Isna Wica Owayawa is working with the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) at the U.S. Department of the Interior to build a better online school system for your child. BIE and NORC at the University of Chicago are conducting a study that will look at the current state of distance education since Covid-19. The study will be used to make recommendations how distance learning can do a better job of meeting the needs of students, families and teachers.
In the next week, you will receive a packet in the mail from NORC with the Distance Learning Household Survey.  The survey will ask a few questions about what your, and your child’s, experience of online school has been in the past year. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. You will have the choice of completing the survey online or by returning a paper version of the survey. Your answers to the survey will be kept private. The answers you provide will be combined with answers from other families to help improve the educational system for all of us.
Thank you in advance for participating in this important study.
